The Pierrotters

Some days I hate computers, some days I swear never to go within 10 feet of a microchip.
Reading a book by candlelight would avoid all the stress of malfunctioning circuits, glitchy USB ports, memory buffer overloads.

It took me 12 hours to get my latest video on youtube, there was an intermittent clicking in the audio track...click click click, so I captured the video again, checked my second attempt and.....click click click...maybe I got a loose plug...check plugs, capture for a third time...click click click...maybe my wires are faulty, use different wires, capture for fourth time...click click click...maybe my plugs are faulty, replace scart plug, capture...click click click, maybe the video player is faulty, test with different video player...click click click, maybe the click is on the tape, try different tape...click click click, maybe the computer is overheating, open computer and vacuum all dust bunnies and polish fan blades.
Restart the computer to discover none of the fans were working, then discover that I cleaned them so well I can't hear their normal whining.
Capture video on cool dust bunny free computer....click click click.
Have coffee while pondering the joys and simplicity of reading a book by candlelight and my love/hate relationship with computers...finish coffee, re-install windows moviemaker...click click click.
Download and install windows service pack 3...2 hours later, restart computer, check all plugs and wires, place pillow in front of me to drop head into...capture video...play back...click click click, drop head into pillow, moan.

11 hours later, give up and watch tv.

Following morning...I have a plan, bypass the video capture card audio and feed the sound directly into the computers audio card...set up all the connections, capture video, play back...the clicking has gone...the problem is there is no sound track whatsoever!...moan, place head in hands.

Go to preferences and options of windows moviemaker and soundcard...request non headache option with sound and vision.

Capture video, play video...I got picture and sound!!...wait for clicks...no clicks!...It works!...Aren't computers wonderful.

Sing and dance into kitchen.....Enjoy the video.
